Paradise Earth????
by potentialJWconvertswife ini know there has been a previous thread on this topic, but in spite of backing up through many many past topics i couldn't find it...can anyone explain this to me, please?
i mean, obviously the promise is that after being denied entry into heaven because they aren't one of the 144,000 the great crowd is stuck on earth, but it's somehow re-made into paradise?!
is there any scriptural support for this notion outside of the nwt?

Most of the biblical "proof" that is giving is that of Psalms 37:11 and Matthew 5:5. Both those passages say that the meek shall inherit the earth. Then they also use 2 Peter 3:13 where reference of a new heaven and new earth, they then use Revelation 21:1 to back that up.
Again this is one of those issues that has always bothered me. Why does it cause so much division on both sides? A lot of Christians believe there is only a heavenly hope, while the Witnesses believe in both...while I can see why people would disagree with the biblical interpretation to me it is of no consequence and neither side should worry about such a petty belief. Clearly there is a little bit of scripture to indicate there could be a earthly hope (perhaps this "new earth" was to represent heaven)...so who cares? Just don't force others to believe it.

Hello family...got a question and need your opinion...
by tan ini've been dating a guy for 6 months now and things have been great except...before me he had a lot of female friends...they we're never sexual (so he says) but very touchy feely.
i've met them all and he has the tendency to still be touchy feely with two of them.. i'm not comfortable with it because he now has a girlfriend.
should i be worried?

always be suspicious of the lesbian card. I have a friend whom I call a lesbian but isn't really, we make out once in a blue moon and we're both touchy feely. I mean clearly if I had a girlfriend we would never do anything, but it still remains it is possible she might not be a full blown dyke.

Yea I figured that too....I also am beginning to think that Locke and his group kill the people who landed on the island who rescue Hurley....but Jack and the other 5 just say that none of the others survived. Thus why they are so famous for being the "ocieanic six". Just my two cents anyways.

Abuse at bethel question...
by mkr32208 ini was just thinking when i was a witness i knew all about the pedophiles that lurked in halls (i was abused myself) so i knew and it never effected my faith.
i just said 'imperfect men' moved on.
however if i had heard of a sex scandle at bethel that would have been very different.

I believe the brother who accused Leo Greenless of molestation was in a local Bethel hall (?). Kids are not allowed at Bethel are they? So it would be very hard to find child abuse there. Also there was the recent brother from Bethel who got caught handing cards to kids and trying to lure them to private areas. Very embarrassing for the WTS that one was.
